December 2 and Beyond
On Sunday December 2, the voting members of this church voiced, through secret ballot, their overwhelming support for me as Interim Senior Pastor for the next 13 months. The vote was an affirmation that we as a local church are committed to following the Lord as He leads through the leadership team. The next year is just loaded with opportunities for everyone who calls CalTab their spiritual home. Let’s start 2013 right, with great hearts, great faith, great unity, great passion and a great attitude to one another.
First we will need to pass our 2013 budget on January 27 (date to be confirmed). During the year we will be giving a lot of attention to our preaching team, the theological and inspirational content of our messages and the application of God’s message to our lives. We also want to do this in a creative and inspiring way so that the Word of God is both accessible and understandable.
We will also be taking a whole new look at how we approach our missions funding and how we communicate the exciting ministry that God has called us to here in Schenectady, and in Mexico, Montana, Haiti, South Africa, Malawi, Bulgaria and Bangladesh. We want to begin talking about our GoMissions from February with regular opportunities for you to get behind the call of God. This you can do by expressing interest in one of our GoMissions trips, joining a prayer support team for GoMissions, and of course funding GoMissions through faithful giving over and above tithes.
There is so much more I could write about, our Journey Ministries, Worship, Small Groups and opportunities for serving in one of our Connect teams. In the end, the vision before us is HUGE. We serve a great God whose will for us to be blessed, growing and generous. I call on all of us at CalTab to stand up, pray up, grow up, hey, do whatever it takes to make our calling a blessed reality here in Schenectady!
